Hoppin’ Down the Bunny Trail

Hoppin’ Down the Bunny Trail

Or the Jelly Bean trail, in my case. That’s right, my favorite Easter tradition as a child was waking up to a jelly bean trail that started at the foot of my bed. It was a great way to start the day knowing that the Easter Bunny had come to our house! After I would go to bed, my mom would painstakingly lay out a jelly bean trail throughout the house, starting upstairs and heading downstairs. When I was younger, the trail would lead right to my Easter basket. When I was older, the trail would lead to the room in which my basket was hidden; it was my job to find it. Added fun for me! The trail would make loopity-loops and sometimes would lead me in the wrong direction and I would happily crawl along picking up the jelly beans in my special jelly bean basket. Oh, I just...

On The Radio

On The Radio

Or maybe I should say “On the Podcast” really. At BCL, Nikki Murry, editor, and I record a few monthly podcasts each month called Berks County Living LIVE giving listeners a “Behind The Scenes” look at what goes into each issue. They are great fun to record. In fact, so fun, I am now doing another weekly podcast series for The People Chronicles called “Here’s What Happening” with Toni Reece and Brad Weisman. We give listeners the inside track on what’s happening around town each weekend. I think one of my pet peeves is hearing people say “There’s nothing to do around here.” Trust me, there is so much to do, the real problem is finding time to do it all! You’ll have to listen each week to hear about all the...

High-Five to Blogging

High-Five to Blogging

So, I’m not really a “New Year’s Resolution kind of gal,” but this year I do resolve to do a better job keeping up with blogging!   I’ve decided to give myself a high-five in advance. The high-five is also a new thing for me. I don’t know why, but I’ve just never really been a fan of the high-five. I don’t think it’s really necessary to high-five others after things like sinking a golf putt, or getting a strike in bowling. And I think it is terrible when it is a lame high-five or even worse, when it is a high-five miss.   All that changed for me recently when I learned the secret behind the perfect high-five. If everyone knew this secret, I think I may become a fan after all. Dying to know what it is?...
