At Cinergi, Stylist Kassia Bogush demonstrates on model, Pat Katrinak. Kassia gave Pat a style that plays up her facial features and is easy to style. Finger drying, a round brush for volume and some light hold pomade for piecey definition is really all that’s needed. For a night out on the town, a bit of hair spray can keep the look in place and looking fresh all night long. To amp up Pat’s new style, Kassia chose tone on tone color in a warm blonde with lighter blonde highlights. “To give her a fun edgy look, I gave her a splash of very vibrant red for her summer accessory,” says Kassia. Pat’s new look coincides with several summer 2010 trends, including: relaxed beachy hair in soft loose waves, texture and piecey definition, and splashes of color.

The Hair Connection
The Hair Connection owner and stylist, Heather Doukas, worked with model Tiffany Limberiou, Heather demonstrates her most modern unique coloring techniques. An array of dark brunette colors was selected from the Redken line to complement Tiffany’s dark facial tones. Heather begins the color process by applying triangles of brunette color throughout Tiffany’s head and then adds diagonal lines to soften the multi-facet ray of highlights. The color application process is followed by the application of a keratin complex, used to soften the entire look. The keratin complex will also eliminate damage caused by frequent flat ironing and control frizz caused by humidity in the hot summer months. Tiffany can now leave her hair in a sexy straight style or easily achieve soft smooth waves; both of which are popular trends for summer 2010.

Natasha’s Salon & Spa
Natasha’s Salon & Spa hairstylist, Kara Shiery, shows her clients with long layers, such as model Lisa Joachim, a simple way to achieve this sexy style. Using a big barrel curling iron, size 1 ¼ inch to 1 ½ inch, and pins is an efficient way of obtaining the hot roller wave effect. Once the waves are set in place, the styling options are unlimited. Lisa can wear her touchable waves as is, back, half back, in a messy side ponytail, or in a casual up-do; all of which are in style for summer 2010. To enhance Lisa’s long layers, Kara gave her a dark, classic brunette color from the exclusive European color line BES and treated her with a Keratin complex. Coppolla’s Keratin Complex Treatment has been offered at Natasha’s Salon for over a year, and is just now catching on as the new hair phenomena. The treatment, applied to Lisa’s hair after receiving her color, will last for three to five months and will aid in the manageability of her hair styling. Natasha’s Salon & Spa is offering a special on this treatment during the summer months.

Sherry’s Salon
“The bob is like the classic black dress,” says salon owner and stylist, Sherry McNabb. There are several variations and lengths of the bob, but no matter how it’s cut or styled, it’s always trendy. Perhaps that is why the bob is one of the primary hair trends for summer 2010. Sherry modified this classic cut for local businesswoman Deborah Hutcheson by leaving it slightly longer and angling it downward in the front. By adjusting the cut to meet her client’s needs, Sherry allows Deborah several styling options: curling it, tucking it behind her ears, or pulling it back off of her face completely. To enhance Deborah’s chic new haircut, Sherry used Inoa, L’oreal Professionnel’s hair color of the future, in a natural brunette color. Launched on May 1, 2010, Inoa is the first and only line of permanent hair color with no ammonia and no foul smell. It does not itch the skin when applied and it is much healthier for stylists, clients and the environment.
